Terms of Service

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GlossyQuote mobile application and website at glossyquote.com (collectively, "the Service"), operated by GlossyQuote ("we", "us", "our").

By creating an account or using our Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service.

2. The Service

GlossyQuote provides a platform that:

• Generates AI-powered cost estimates for home improvement and trade work (painting, plastering, flooring, tiling, kitchen fitting, and other trades).
• Connects customers with local tradespeople (professionals) seeking job leads.
• Facilitates communication between customers and professionals.

3. User Accounts

Registration

To use most features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, truthful, and current information.
• Keep your account credentials secure and not share them with others.
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
• Take responsibility for all activity under your account.

Account types

• Customer accounts: for homeowners and property managers seeking trade estimates and connecting with professionals.
• Professional accounts: for tradespeople and businesses seeking job leads and customer connections.

4. Payments and Subscriptions

Customer Estimates

Each cost estimate costs £2.99 (or the equivalent in your local currency). This is a one-time purchase giving you access to one detailed estimate. Payments are processed via Apple App Store or Google Play.

Professional Credits

Professionals purchase credits to access customer job leads. Credit packages are available in the app. Credits are non-refundable once used to view a lead. Unused credits do not expire.

Premium Subscriptions

• Monthly plan: £49 per month. Includes 60 credits per month and reduced lead costs.
• Annual plan: £490 per year (equivalent to approximately £40.83/month).
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time via your device's subscription settings.

7-Day Free Trial

• New professional users may be eligible for a 7-day free trial of the Premium subscription.
• A valid payment method is required to start the trial.
• If not cancelled before the end of the trial period, the subscription will automatically convert to the monthly plan at £49/month.
• One trial per user. Trials cannot be combined or extended.
• Claiming a free trial will forfeit any remaining trial eligibility.

Refunds

All purchases are final and non-refundable, except where required by law. For refund requests related to Apple App Store purchases, contact Apple Support. For Google Play purchases, contact Google Play Support. For any other billing disputes, contact us at glossyquote@gmail.com.

Restore Purchases

You can restore previous purchases at any time using the "Restore Purchases" button in the app. This applies to active subscriptions and previously purchased content.

5. Professional Conduct

For customers

• Job postings must be genuine requests for trade work.
• Do not post false, misleading, or spam job listings.
• Treat professionals respectfully in all communications.

For professionals

• You must be legally entitled to work in the UK and carry appropriate insurance.
• All information on your profile must be accurate and up to date.
• Do not contact customers outside the platform for the purpose of avoiding platform fees.
• Portfolio photos must be your own genuine work.
• Do not submit false reviews or manipulate ratings.

6. Prohibited Uses

You must not use GlossyQuote to:

• Post fraudulent, illegal, or misleading content.
• Impersonate another person or business.
• Collect or harvest other users' personal data without consent.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or scrape the app or its data.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems.
• Abuse the trial system by creating multiple accounts to obtain multiple trials.
• Send unsolicited commercial messages (spam) to other users.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

7. Intellectual Property

All content within the GlossyQuote app and website — including the software, design, text, logos, and trademarks — belongs to GlossyQuote or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

By uploading content (e.g. portfolio photos), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display that content within the Service.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

• The accuracy or completeness of any cost estimate.
• The quality, reliability, or conduct of any professional on our platform.
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service.

GlossyQuote is a technology platform, not a trade contractor. We are not responsible for any work carried out by professionals found through our platform.

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Third-Party Services

Our app integrates with third-party services including Apple App Store, Google Play, Supabase, and RevenueCat. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we discontinue the Service. You may close your account at any time via Profile → Close Account or by contacting us.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Unused paid credits are non-refundable upon voluntary account closure.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you may also have rights under the laws of your country of residence.
